Jim is also about to be contracted to contribute 30k words to a new RPG core book. More details forthcoming.

The Writing Process

Jim writes almost all of his first drafts on an Alphasmart Neo, which is quite possibly the handiest writer's tool in the universe. Once an unedited first draft is complete, he dumps the text onto his desktop computer and works the remaining magic in good old Microsoft Word.

Other Writing

  • Jim has written material for Decipher, Inc.'s Star Trek RPG and The Lord of the Rings RPG; and for FanPro/Catalyst Games Labs' Shadowrun RPG. Owing to a wide variety of factors in the ever-capricious RPG industry, most of that material remains unpublished.

  • In 1995, Jim wrote three issues of a black-and-white comic book titled The Acolyte Chronicles, which were published by Azure Press, a small print comic company created by Tom Chillemi, Jim, and others. Copies of the comic might possibly still be found in the bargain bins of your local comic book store. If you happen to find one, enjoy (he says, cringingly).
